Earlier today, TIME magazine unveiled its annual TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2017 list. Among the names were many of the heavy-hitters one would expect from the world of politics (Vladimir Putin and James Comey), sports (Colin Kaepernick and LeBron James), and yes, architecture. David Adjaye , a 2017 AD100 recipient and one of the minds behind the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. , was the only architect included on the prestigious list. (Last year, that honor went to Bjarke Ingels .)
Adjaye's recognition by TIME for his inimitable vision arrives on the heels of the January ceremony where he received the Knights Bachelor from the Queen of England. We can only expect more great things to come.
